THERAPY SERVICES

Service Structure

All services are for adults aged 18 and over. Sessions are 50 minutes in length and may take place in-person, online, or over the phone depending on your preferences and ongoing policies surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic. You can expect weekly sessions to take place on the same day and time unless we agree otherwise. We provide both short-term and long-term treatments.

Individual Therapy

Individual therapy involves 1-to-1 sessions in which one of our practitioners works with you to explore and understand any challenging thoughts, feelings, and behaviours that you want to address and change in your life. Therapy aims to build a trusting relationship between you and your practitioner so you can safely discuss the details of whatever is ailing you.

How the therapy looks depends on what you would like to focus on. Although we primarily provide talk therapy, we might also do therapeutic activities that involve writing, drawing, breathing, or movement. We work together to determine what type of therapy works best for you in finding relief and growth.

Both Ben and Heather offer individual therapy sessions.

Couples Therapy

Couples therapy supports partners in navigating the complex challenges of building and maintaining healthy relationships. Partners attend the majority of sessions together, though you might have some individual sessions where the therapist has a chance to learn about each person outside of the relationship context.

Therapy can benefit couples struggling to connect emotionally and intimately, communicate effectively, or navigate decisions around family life. Modern-day relationships are also impacted by outside factors such as stressful jobs, family relations, finances, physical and mental health, to name a few. Therapy aims to develop the skills in both partners to manage these struggles and thrive together.

Heather offers couple therapy sessions.

EMDR Therapy

Eye movement desensitisation reprocessing therapy is an extensively researched and evidence-based approach to treating trauma. It invites the client to use bi-lateral stimulation, typically eye movements or tapping, whilst recalling elements of unprocessed or 'stuck' memories, emotions and sensations. Ongoing research also demonstrates EMDR's effectiveness in treating anxiety, depression, OCD, addictions and phobias. You can find out more about EMDR here.

Ben offers EMDR sessions.
